Appalachian Outfitters — TallySoft Daily Journal Poster. Effective date: August 17, 2026.

Overview

The TallySoft Daily Journal Poster ("the App") is a private, internal tool operated by Appalachian Outfitters solely for its own bookkeeping. The App reads Appalachian Outfitters' point-of-sale data and posts a daily journal entry to Appalachian Outfitters' own QuickBooks Online company through the Intuit API. The App is not offered to, installed by, or used by the public or any third party.

Information We Access

  • QuickBooks Online accounting data (chart of accounts, classes, and journal entries) for the Appalachian Outfitters company, accessed via the Intuit API using OAuth 2.0.
  • Point-of-sale sales totals from Appalachian Outfitters' own systems, used to build the daily journal entry.

The App does not collect personal information from any external consumers or app users.

How We Use It

Accessed data is used only to create and, when needed, reverse a single balanced daily journal entry in Appalachian Outfitters' QuickBooks Online company. It is used for no other purpose.

Storage and Security

  • OAuth access and refresh tokens are stored locally on an Appalachian Outfitters-controlled computer in an access-restricted file; they are never committed to source control or shared.
  • The App runs from a fixed, Appalachian Outfitters-controlled network location and connects only to the Intuit API over HTTPS.

Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share any data accessed through the Intuit API with third parties. There are no external users whose data would be shared.

Data Retention

The App retains only the OAuth tokens required to maintain its connection and a local record of which dates have been posted (to prevent duplicate entries). Access can be revoked at any time from within QuickBooks Online, which invalidates the stored tokens.
